    Three KM luminaries - Dr Gary Klein, Shawn Callahan and Patrick Lambe - will be conducting a masterclass on Insights and Stories on 5 September 2011. The masterclass will cover:

    - understanding insights in organisations
    - diagnosing blokages to insights
    - using story-based interventions to build and exploit insights

    This brochure will tell you more about the masterclass. Members of iKMS will enjoy a 10% discount. Do note that the masterclass is fast approaching full capacity.

    KM: Singapore Perspectives is an annual iKMS online compendium of knowledge management articles devoted to raising awareness of and advancing knowledge management practices in Singapore.
     
    The 2011 Edition is intended for release in Dec 2011, and iKMS welcomes proposals by interested contributors, extending on this year's theme of the annual iKMS conference "Riding the Wave of Experience".
     
    Contributors are encouraged to submit their synopsis to Karuna Ramanathan by 15 Aug 11. The 500-word synopsis should describe the proposed topic and its relevance from a practitioner's point of view.
     
    Successful contributors will be informed via email, and they should be prepared to submit their drafts to iKMS by 15 Sep 11, to allow for sufficient editing opportunity.
     
    Final drafts will be expected by 15 Oct 11.

    We are looking for case presenters or peer assistees for this year's KM Singapore conference (1-2 Sep). You are the one we are looking for if:
    • you have recently implemented a KM programme and you have learnt many valuable lessons;
    • you have a KM-related challenge and you would like to seek feedback or advice from your peers;
    • you are open to sharing and learning with fellow practitioners.

    Bill Proudfit has over 20 years of records, document, knowledge and information management experience in consumer goods, construction and casino compliance. He has worked at Director level for global corporations managing roll-out of global policies and compliance system implementations.  

    He recently completed a one-year contract at Galaxy Entertainment Group in Macau, where he:
    • put in a Documentum system for anti-money laundering (AML) compliance and a tracking method for physical mail routing among their six casino-hotels
    • did a legal review of records-keeping requirements in Macau and created a records-keeping brief and related records retention schedule
    • did a comparison of in-house and out-source records storage services
    • hired staff and trained them.

    The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore is looking for suitable candidates to fill the above positions.

    Responsibilities:
    • Assist the Manager in the management, administration, and operation of KM activities
    • Ensure that the contents in the KM System are easily retrievable
    • Ensure that the administration of the KM System is efficient and effective
    • Ensure the effectiveness of OE and KM initiatives
    • Develop and review policies and identify programmes to improve staffs' competencies and identify initiatives to promote knowledge sharing
    • Ensure that our Business Excellence Systems are of a reputable standard
    • Promote a learning and knowledge sharing culture so that staff have timely information and knowledge to perform the work efficiently and effectively
    • Promote a quality culture

    Requirements:
    • Degree in Business Administration, Economics or Accounting
    • Good communication (verbal and written) skills
    • Good organisation and time management skills
    • Prior experience in KM or organisation development areas will be an advantage
